Knowledge Bowl Team Advances to State

Selah High School Students are in the “Know”

A group of Selah High School students are in the “know” as they have punched their ticket to compete in the 35th Annual Washington State Knowledge Bowl competition. The Selah High School Knowledge Bowl Team advances to state competition.

In earning the state invitation at the 2A level, Selah’s Knowledge Bowl team placed second place during regional competition.  Selah’s trip to state in March marks the fourth consecutive year the club has advanced out of regional qualifying.

In Knowledge Bowl, high school teams of up to six members compete to answer questions testing student knowledge in a broad range of academic areas, as well as logic and current events.  Each event begins with a written competition in which team members work together to solve a list of 60 multiple-choice problems.  Teams then engage in three oral rounds against two other schools in answering a series of questions ranging from math and science to history and language arts.

Representing the Selah High School Knowledge Bowl Team and heading to state are Scott Willey, Bryan Neill, Shane Isom, Lilly Kikendall, Maggie Ballew and Anna Swedin.  The squad is advised by Selah High School teachers, David Dwyer and Matt Brown.

Congratulations to the Selah High School Knowledge Bowl Team for being in the “know.”
