Thank You Debbie Heide for Your 17 Years of Selah Service!
The Selah School District would like to thank Director of Transportation Debbie Heide for her service!
For the last 17 years, under Debbie’s leadership, the wheels on the bus have been going round-and-round serving Selah students and families. December 31, marks Debbie’s last day guiding Selah’s transportation team. Debbie is transitioning to a similar position where she was raised and went to school.
Transporting students safely to and from school and their activities has always been the top priority for Debbie. For almost two decades she has overseen the District’s fleet of buses and vehicles that are maintained at the highest quality standards and consistently pass annual state patrol inspections at 100%. From driving roads at 3:30 a.m. on winter mornings, to chaining busses, working on routes, organizing safety drills, answering questions, implementing programs for riders, sitting behind the wheel to transport students herself, and rolling up her sleeves and working side-by-side with the transportation team, Debbie has been dutifully committed to the District and Selah families. And, let’s not forget the spring and fall of 2020, the COVID pandemic, and remote learning, when under Debbie’s guidance the transportation team delivered food and school supplies to homes so students could continue receiving meals and also had the materials they needed for learning. It is easy to see why, under Debbie's leadership, Selah's transportation team is the best around!
The Selah School District would like to thank Debbie Heide for her Viking service! She definitely deserves a big honk of the bus horn!
