Math is Cool for Selah Intermediate School Students!

It all added up for students at Selah Intermediate School as they found out that math is cool!

Demonstrating their “groovy” math skills at the recent Yakima Valley Region Math is Cool Competition; Selah Intermediate SEEK students proved that without a doubt they were among the most “hip” mathematicians in the area.

As a team, fifth grade math minds were definitely the coolest at their grade level as they earned first place honors for the competition.  The fourth grade team also proved to be math “groovy” as they were awarded second place for their grade level.  Individually, fifth grade mathematicians demonstrated their “street-cred” as Bracken Shea finished first among all fifth grade students, and Beau Kinley placed third.  Also proving to be math cool were fourth grade competitors, Colton Shea who placed second, Jonah Traverse Powers who earned third place honors, and Keaton Pitzer who finished fourth.

Whether its “groovy,” “hip,” or “rad,” it definitely added up for Selah Intermediate School Seek students as they found out that math is cool!
