It's Another Score for Selah High School Athletes!

Selah High School Winter Athletic Teams Recognized for Academic Achievement!

After all the accomplishments by Selah High School’s winter athletes, another score has been recorded by varsity teams.  All five of the high school’s winter varsity athletic teams qualified for academic honors according to Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) standards for earning average grade points of 3.0 or above.

Earning the recognition of Outstanding with grade point averages (GPA) over 3.5 were two Viking teams.  After earning its first state championship, the Viking Bowling Team rolled a 3.674 grade point average.  Also, after finishing atop the CWAC League standings and winning the District Title, the Boys’ Basketball Team had a slam dunk by posting a 3.510 grade point.

In addition to the student-athletes honored as Outstanding, three Selah High School teams were recognized as Distinguished with average GPA’s between 3.0 and 3.5.  The Girls’ Basketball Team scored by earning a team GPA of 3.497, while the Boys’ Swimming Team made a splash with a 3.335 average.  Also Distinguished was the Wrestling Team which boasted an average GPA of 3.088.

Well done to Selah High School’s winter students athletes for scoring on the courts, mats and in the pool and also inside the classroom.
