Selah Intermediate Students Have Heart!
Selah Intermediate students are showing they have heart as they launched this year’s American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge with an exciting kickoff assembly led by an American Heart Association representative and the school’s PE teachers, encouraging everyone to get active, build healthy habits, and support an important cause.
The Kids Heart Challenge is a nationwide program that promotes heart-healthy habits, physical activity and mental wellness, while teaching students the value of service and compassion. Through their participation, Selah students are learning how to keep their hearts, bodies, and brains healthy—one beat at a time—while supporting others with special hearts.
Selah is especially proud to have two students serving as Youth Heart Ambassadors — Kassia Dahlin and Maia Dahlin, both attending Selah Middle School. In this role, they inspire their peers to build healthy habits, raise awareness for hands-only CPR training, participate in the Kids Heart Challenge, and promote the importance of heart health.
The program also provides an opportunity to give back to the school community. If Selah ranks among the top participating fundraising schools, it can earn funding and new playground equipment to support student activity and play.
The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and meaningful way for students to learn lifelong habits of health and helping others. Together, Selah Intermediate students are working toward a healthier future—one heart at a time.
