Selah FCCLA Shines on the National Stage!

It wasn’t just the sun shining brightly in Washington, D.C. — Selah FCCLA students shined on the national stage, too!

Returning from the 2026 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, held July 4-11 in Washington, D.C., nine outstanding students from Selah High School and Selah Middle School were among more than 10,000 students, educators, and guests from across the country.

Beyond the unforgettable experience of visiting our nation's capital, Selah students strengthened their leadership skills, competed against the nation’s best, and returned home with an impressive collection of national honors.

Here are the highlights:

Leadership

  • Maximus Eismann (SHS) represented Washington as a candidate for the FCCLA National Executive Council, completing a rigorous national election process that included a written exam, application, panel interview, speech, and leadership activities. Following the election, Max continued serving Washington by helping lead the state meetings as the Washington Executive Vice President.
  • As Washington State FCCLA President, Leah Richards (SHS), played a prominent leadership role throughout the conference by:
  1. Leading three Washington state meetings.
  2. Presenting state awards during the Recognition Session.
  3. Carrying the Washington State flag in the Parade of State.s
  4. Serving as Washington's voting delegate during the National Business Meeting and Officer Elections.
  • Olivia Eismann (SHS) was selected as one of only 40 FCCLA members nationwide to participate in the annual National Fashion Show, proudly showcasing a dress she designed and created herself.
