Other than English

 

Families are an important part of their child's education!  If you are in need of language services in order to actively participate in your child’s education, notify your child’s school.  Be sure to sign up for Parent Square.  You can pick your language in the settings and all communication from the school is sent to you through Parent Square.

Spanish Contacts/Resources

Each school building in the district has employed Spanish bilingual front office staff to assist families as well as has many certified and classified staff that help with interpretation and translation. If you are needing assistance  in Spanish, refer to the numbers below.

Language Access Plan

Interpretation/Lionbridge

For any language other than Spanish or if a Selah Spanish Interpreter is not available, Selah contracts interpretation services through Lionbridge. Staff make a request for services prior to any meeting or conference. The interpreter joins through a conference phone.

Translation/Lingualinx

All Spanish translation for the buildings will be done with building resources.

For larger projects or for languages other than Spanish, Selah contracts translation services through LinguaLinx.  Staff make requests for services.

American Sign Language

Selah has two staff members that serve as our ASL interpreters when needed. Teachers make a request for services in order to schedule an interpreter for meetings or conferences.
