Kindness Counts!
At John Campbell Primary School, Kindness Counts—and this winter, students are proudly proving it. Powered by students and fueled by heart, the school’s kindness campaign, alongside its anti-bullying pledge that encourages everyone to be a buddy, not a bully, is building a culture where caring for others is simply The Viking Way.
Since launching the campaign at the beginning of February, students have taken the lead in a peer-to-peer movement that spreads unity, compassion, and respect—empowering them to express their feelings and communicate positively with classmates.
Each week, students are on the lookout for acts of kindness. With a little help from their teachers, they fill out a kindness ticket, shining a spotlight on ways someone has been kind to them or to others. The tickets go into the school kindness box, and each Friday, a couple of students are drawn and celebrated over the loudspeaker for their kind acts. To celebrate the occasion, the recognized students choose a piece of swag and then strike a pose for a photo—capturing the moment that reminds everyone that kindness is The Viking Way. The kindness campaign will continue throughout the spring, with the themes changing to match the month.
At John Campbell Primary School, kindness counts. That’s what happens when small acts of goodness are celebrated.
