Social-Emotional Learning

  • Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. At John Campbell Primary, SEL is so important that we've created a 45-minutes specialist dedicated for just this. The more we can help students be self-aware and develop empathy for their peers, the great their ability to learn and thrive.
