Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 with its amendments is a civil rights statute that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Section 504 covers students with diagnosed, certified, or classified disabilities that substantially limit one or more major life activities and require accommodations. Referrals for 504 evaluations can be made to the school psychologist or administrator at any school building.
