Zesty News from Nutrition Services
There’s some zesty news for Selah School District kitchens as Director of Nutrition Services, Laurie Ozanich, has been selected as one of 27 school food professionals for Chef Ann Foundation Healthy School Food Pathway Fellowship!
The Fellowship program helps experienced school food professionals realize their visions for healthier, more sustainable, and more equitable school food—both locally in their home districts and at a national scale. For the next 13 months, Laurie will be learning alongside an inspiring cohort of food leaders from across the country, working to bring real change to school meals, with healthier, scratch-cooked selections for students, all while championing equitable school food reform on a national scale. In doing so, the Fellows will cultivate their leadership skills, deepen their school food knowledge, and become experts on and advocated for healthy school food policy.
In being selected for the fellowship opportunity, the days will be sizzling, as the time commitment is outside of the normal work day for nutrition services, and there is no expense to the District.
