SHS Teacher Wins State Award!

Morgan Rodriguez Receives HSCTE New Teacher of the Year Honor!

While working to connect students to health, Selah High School Teacher, Morgan Rodriguez, has been recognized as the Washington Health Science Career and Technical Education (HSCTE) New Teacher of the Year for 2025.

The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding new teachers who have made significant contributions to health science education and who have demonstrated a commitment to student success.

In her fourth year of teaching in the Selah School District, Rodriguez has made remarkable contributions to health science and the Selah community by focusing on student-centered instruction and advocacy with complex topics and cutting-edge technology. Rodriguez teaches Principles of Bio Medicine, Introduction to Health Careers, and Infectious Disease and Epidemiology. In addition, she is also one of the high school’s HOSA advisors, and part of the 9th Grade Success and District Leadership Teams.
