SHS Student Honored with Award!

Things continue to heat up for Selah students as another one of our Selah learners is being recognized!

Congratulations to Margarita Vaca Guevara for being selected as the recipient of the Power of Community Perseverance Award for the 2023-2024 school year. The honor is presented by the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) as part of the Washington State Title I, Part C, Migrant Education Program. The award recognizes migrant students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and dedication throughout the school year, and a determination to persevere and reach educational goals as a model for others.

In celebration of the honor, Margarita, who will be a junior at Selah High School in the fall, will be honored for her achievement with a plaque at the 2024 Art of Belonging Migrant and Arts Programs State Conference to be held in August.
