New Board Member Seated

The ballots have been counted and following today's certification of the November 4 General Election, the Selah School District announces its Board of Directors voting results.

Board incumbent Joe Catron retained his directorship. Catron represents Position 2, District 2, and originally joined the Board in 2022.

The District also welcomes a new director to its Board, as Larry Patching was elected to represent Position 1, an at large seat. Patching’s seat was previously held by Board Vice-President, Jamie Morford, who did not seek re-election.

An advocate for children, Patching holds a Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University and works as a state child protective services social worker for the Department of Children, Youth and Families. A dedicated community volunteer, Patching has supported youth and school district athletic programs, as well as served as a boy scout leader and church youth mentor.  Patching has also served as a reserve sheriff’s deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Patching will officially be sworn in as the Board’s newest member at its December 11 meeting.
