Focusing on Families!

Our Selah School District students and families are important to us! That is why our District’s Migrant Education Program and OIC of Yakima have partnered together again this year to focus on families to ensure they have food to serve, so students can eat and focus on learning. Enduring any weather element—rain, snow, wind, or shine—every other week on Thursday’s, identified families receive a box of food items which have been donated by OIC partners. Families are identified either through the District’s Migrant Education Program, being families needing support, or as McKinney Vento students. This year, the District’s and OIC partnership is helping 40 families and will continue until the end of the school year. This is just one way the District and community partners are supporting families. Thank you to everyone who continues to make this opportunity possible for Selah families and students!
