Avery Brewer Poised for Big Season Following Injury

Stories of Avery Brewer’s exceptional power at the plate date back to seventh grade, when she blasted a home run over the scoreboard at East Valley Middle School.

The Selah junior regularly sends softballs crashing into the center field scoreboard or over the top of it at her home field during batting practice, a welcome sight for the Vikings after she missed nearly her entire sophomore season with a knee injury. It only took Brewer four plate appearances to hit her first home run of 2025, and the next game illustrated her value as a pitcher.
