Class of 2025 Graduates 275!
"I See the Future!"
As he looked out at the sea of blue and gold shimmering under the lights of graduation night, Parker Casey, one of two class chosen speakers, stood center stage balanced at the threshold of time. In front of his 274 fellow graduates comprising the Class of 2025, and a packed SunDome crowed of family, teachers and friends, Casey embraced the milestone moment, understanding it was a transition of the past and its possibilities, with that of the future and opportunities still to come. As he faced his classmates Casey spoke with his heart about the journey that had led the senior class to the evening's celebration—and the even greater passage that still lies ahead. He spoke about how the group entered high school as freshmen, apprehensive and unsure of what the next four years would bring. But, Casey explained, in time, the group gained confidence and grew into leaders that walked the halls with passion and purpose. As he spoke about classes taken, clubs joined, sports played and accomplishments achieved, Casey shared the significance of the past 13 years. He described that by seizing upon the opportunities they had been offered, graduates were equipped with skills and self-belief to pursue whatever pathway comes next—whether attending college, joining the military, or entering the workforce. Casey reminded his peers that no matter which path they chose, their capabilities and determination would lead them far. And, with a spark in his voice that signified the Class of 2025's time had come to change the world, Casey exclaimed, I see the future!
Following Casey's address, Karishma Arroyo shared her feelings on how she and her classmates were standing on the edge of something new. As she spoke, Arroyo challenged her fellow graduates to embrace change and the emotions that come with beginning a new chapter of life, and to continue preparing for the future and wherever opportunity leads.
In his message to seniors, Principal, Colton Monti, praised the class sitting before him as being a remarkable group that began their high school careers in the shadow of a global pandemic. Monti explained that as freshmen they were shy and at times wore masks on their confidence and voice. However, he shared the Class emerged into leaders, thinkers, and dreamers, who possess strength, character, and purpose. Monti challenged students to be bold, take risks and never stop seeking new experiences.
"The world needs your ideas, energy and courage," said Monti.
In his final words to his classmates, Parker Casey didn't hold back. His authentic thoughts reinforced that in moving ahead it was their moment to prove just how important, capable, and unapologetically, themselves they truly are. Then, with a smile full of belief, Casey challenged his peers to step forward with confidence in their stride because the Class of 2025 was ready to be the next generation of leaders. And, although no one knows what the future holds, one thing is certain—from Parker Casey's view, he sees the future.
