Selah High School Bell Schedule Revision Announcement

New Bell Schedule Takes Affect Monday, November 28

School Will Start at 7:35 a.m., End at 2:05 p.m.

In order to address bus routing efficiency and student safety needs, following the Thanksgiving holiday, the Selah High School bell schedule will be adjusted by five minutes.

Beginning on Monday, November 28, the start of second trimester, Selah High School students will begin classes five minutes earlier, at 7:35 a.m.  With the five-minute earlier start time, the end of the school day will also be adjusted and students will be dismissed at 2:05 p.m.

The bell schedule adjustment was made to address bus routing efficiency and safety needs.

The revised bell schedule helps create better efficiency in the bus routing process and allows for more time after secondary students are delivered to school to prepare for and begin the elementary routes.  Additionally, the schedule revision also puts Selah High School on the same bell schedule as Selah Middle School students which is more efficient for the District and the Transportation Department.  Also, the time adjustment creates an improved safety practice in the afternoon at the high school as it allows for five additional minutes before the arrival of buses for the clearing of the lower parking lot of pedestrians and lower lot drivers.  Further, the time adjustment will create a more even flow of morning and afternoon traffic on Goodlander and First Street by the high school as parent pick-up vehicles, student drivers, and buses will not all converge on the roadways and at school entrances and exits at the same time.

Thank you for your support of the adjustment to the Selah High School bell schedule.  If you have any questions, please contact the school at 509-698-8500.
